AUDUBON, N.J. (CBS) - Flags waiving, bands playing and a wedding ceremony kicked off Audubon?s Fourth of July celebration.

?You could tell he was nervous but it was exciting,? Amanda Dreeland said of her new husband.

For newlyweds Sean and Amanda Dreeland, who were originally talking about a quiet backyard wedding, this couldn?t have been more perfect. Sean got down on one knee in February and in honor of his new job, he proposed marrying his bride on a tow truck.

?At first it was supposed to be a joke. I said to her let?s get married on a tow truck and she was like, ?No! No way!,?? said Sean.

?I emailed the mayor asking him to perform our ceremony and he said why not get marry on a float in the 4th of July parade. So it worked out because I got the wedding and he got the tow truck,? Amanda said.

So with the town cheering them on, the two lead the parade exchanging their vows. This is the second year in a row Mayor John Ward has performed a wedding during the 4th of July parade.

?We?re the most patriotic small town in America!,? said Mayor Ward.

?It was awesome. I couldn?t imagine anything different than my baby getting married in a parade, on a float, by the mayor. It was awesome,? the mother of the groom said emotionally.

Back at home, more than a dozen family members toasted the couple, who was joined by their six-month-old daughter, Kiley. As they cut their cake, they said they?ll be looking forward to many 4th?s to come.

?It?s a special day to us now, even more so than before,? the bride said.

?How many people get married on the 4th of July?? Sean asked. ?In a parade? On a tow truck??
