A native of Mexico, Oscar Angulo Inzunza moved to the United States in 2002. After pursuing his MBA, Inzunza had gained extensive information from his classmates regarding the world of entrepreneurship. After talking with a recruiter, and meeting Mike Hawkins, Vice President of Glass Doctor?, Inzunza realized Glass Doctor was the perfect fit.
Inzunza?s research did not stop there. He spoke with current franchisees and learned how strong the support system behind Glass Doctor is, and how franchising sets the stage for ultimate success.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: ?I was born in Mexico and moved to Ontario in 2002.
Q: What was your career before franchising?
A: I worked in manufacturing for most of my career in the automotive and light manufacturing industries.? A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to further my education and pursued my MBA at Queens University.? While in school, many of my classmates were entrepreneurs, and told me about their experience building their own companies.? After completing my MBA, I realized that I was at a crossroads: I could either pursue a corporate role, or try something different.? Based on what I had learned from both the university and my classmates, I decided to push myself outside of my comfort zone and become an entrepreneur.
Q: How did you learn about Glass Doctor?
A: ?I spoke with a recruiter about different franchising opportunities and Glass Doctor came up.? The company seemed like they were well established and provided a successful business to its franchisees, so I decided to look into it further.? I met the Vice President of Glass Doctor and learned more about the company, including the Code of Values, which really sold me.? I then spoke with other Glass Doctor franchisees and everyone spoke really highly of all the support that Glass Doctor corporate provides. I asked the franchisees questions about why they joined the company, what they did before opening their Glass Doctor, and their success.? ?I also thought the culture of the company as a whole was fantastic.
Q: What was most appealing to you about joining a franchise system as opposed to starting your own business?
A: I don?t have a specific trade that I?m an expert in, like a mechanic or electrician, so I needed to learn about this business, and how to run a successful company.? ?I?ve been managing people for a long time, and those experiences are going to help me to create a good work environment for my employees.? Just learning about the overall operation of this business is very exciting.? ?I really enjoy working in the service industry.? And based on my personality, I know I will really enjoy working in this type of industry and am excited for the opportunity to learn and grow and help my customers.
