GE Makes World's Most Ethical Companies List For Seven Straight ...

March 6, 2013

The Ethisphere Institute named GE to its annual list of the world?s most ethical companies for the seventh straight year. Only 23 companies made list every year since it launched seven years ago.

Etisphere selected GE for showing leadership in promoting ethical business standards. ?We?re honored to be named one of Ethisphere?s World?s Most Ethical Companies, as it?s truly a confirmation that our efforts on compliance and ethics are not only recognized by our employees, customers and business partners, but also by our peers and the industry,? said Al Rosa, GE?s chief compliance director and senior executive counsel.

The 2013 list, which was released today, includes 145 companies. The vast majority were U.S. companies, followed by corporations from the European Union.

?Our integrity culture and compliance program define us,? Rosa said. ?We live in times where great volatility and change are the norm. But one thing that will never change is GE?s culture of integrity. No matter the country, industry or culture, our employees and leaders are responsible to execute to the highest level of ethical standards and to ensure that every interaction with our customers, suppliers and regulators is conducted in the same way.?

The Ethisphere Institute is a leading international think tank focused on developing and sharing best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability. The Ethisphere ranking ?provides companies a chance to be recognized for their efforts in ethics and compliance,? the think tank says. ?The winners of our World?s Most Ethical Companies are the standouts?.They are the companies who force other companies to follow their leadership or fall behind. These are the companies who use ethical leadership as a profit driver. And each of these companies embody the true spirit of Ethisphere?s credo: ?Good. Smart. Business. Profit.??
