Planning your holiday is one of life?s great joys; deciding where to go, when to go, who to go with, how long to stay for? just thinking about getting away can give you a real boost.
?
Work and life can get us down if we don?t take a break every now and then and a change from the daily grind is the best way to relax and unwind.
Many people love to go abroad and soak up the sun, see some sights and experience a new culture, which is undeniably a fabulous way to spend your time. But you may want to take another break, perhaps a shorter trip and don?t fancy a long flight for the sake of a couple of days.
?
Or maybe you just don?t enjoy flying and would rather stay somewhere closer to home. There are some lovely places in the UK to visit and many websites out there dedicated to helping you choose where to stay and what to do. Families with young children benefit especially from a holiday in the UK as it?s much easier to enjoy a break away in a country you know.
?
A balanced break
So why forgo a holiday abroad in favor of staying in the UK? Well, you don?t have to give up foreign travel by any means, but the two can go hand-in-hand to give you a very nice, balanced few breaks throughout the year. If you choose to stay at home over and above going abroad, you might want to go for a little longer, perhaps taking in a few places along the way.
?
What about the weather??
?
Yes, the UK isn?t renowned for its hot summers, but don?t be put off by clich?s and headlines. Nowhere has a guarantee of gorgeous weather all the time, but whatever the forecast, you can have a wonderful time during your stay.
?
Explore and enjoy
There are all kinds of wonderful holidays you can take in the UK. Explore the magnificent Peak District, or the famous beaches of Cornwall and Devon. Take a trip up north to Scotland, discover the beautiful villages of East Anglia, or the stunning scenery of the West Country.
?
The heritage of the UK is second to none, with a whole array of historic buildings, famous landmarks and places of interest to visit and explore.
So this year why not explore what the UK has to offer, and remember? taking a trip abroad might be great but taking a trip closer to home is amazing.
